This piece was inspired by a layering technique taught to me by Peggy Holt of Missoula, Montana. She uses organza layered over imitation silk flowers and leaves but here I used yarns, fabric trims, lace, and lame fabric scraps. I used a fabric that was black with musical notes on it for the base and then laid organza over the whole thing and quilted it allowing the pleats to fall where they may. The panel on the left has a cutout section with netting that has been satin stitched to echo the lines of the organza panel and then a timtex panel with the bright blue fabric is attached to the quilt behind the netting. There some black and white glass beads as embellishment and the three panels were attached together to make a single bold, graphic piece.
